Liability Waiver

I acknowledge that I am participating in Pilates classes offered by my teacher, Taryn Slade, where I will receive information and instruction about Pilates, physical exercise and health. I understand that certain dangers exist when exercising including injury and even death. 

If you answer yes to any of the following questions, please talk to your doctor BEFORE you become more physically active. Discuss with your doctor which kinds of activities you wish to participate in.


Do you have a heart condition and that you should only do physical activity recommended by a doctor?

Do you feel pain in your chest when you do physical activity? 

In the past month, have you had chest pain while you were not doing physical activity?

Do you lose your balance because of dizziness or do you ever lose consciousness? 

Do you have a bone or joint problem that could be made worse by physical activity? 

Is your doctor currently prescribing drugs for your blood pressure or heart condition?

Are you pregnant or recently had a baby?

Have you had any recent injuries or operations?

Do you know of any other reason why you should not do physical activity?

It is inadvisable to do Pilates between weeks 8 to 14 of pregnancy, unless by special arrangement with your teacher. It is also wise to wait six weeks after the birth before resuming exercise. Taryn Slade’s Pilates Class routines are not specifically tailored for pre or post natal Pilates or specific conditions unless specified.

ALL PREGNANT CLIENTS, without exception, should have permission from your medical practitioner to continue or to start exercise during pregnancy. Medical permission should then be sought at regular intervals throughout pregnancy. Usually this can be given at your regular antenatal clinic.

Pilates exercises are very safe but, as with all forms of physical exercise, it is prudent to consult your doctor before starting sessions. It is recommended that you consult with a physician before starting a new exercise program and follow their safety recommendations. 

These sessions are not a substitute for medical counselling or treatment. If you have any doubts about the suitability of the exercises, you should refer back to your medical practitioner. 

The teacher, Taryn Slade, can accept no liability for personal injury or damages related to participation in a session online via zoom, in person or pre-recorded on the www.geminipilates.co.uk website or on Vimeo and You Tube channels. Exercise should be performed at a pace, which feels comfortable for you. 

With this knowledge, I confirm that I am making a voluntary choice to participate and engage in the class/routine and accept all and any risk associated with my decision to participate. I represent and warrant that I am physically fit and have no medical condition that would prevent my full participation in these Pilates classes which may include use of small equipment such as resistance bands, foam rollers, gym balls. By taking class with Taryn Slade virtually, in person or via her content online, you understand and agree that Taryn Slade has no liability to you for any injury or loss you may suffer in connection with any Pilates session. 

The use of any information provided by Taryn Slade is solely at your own risk. I confirm agreement for my teacher to contact me with information on classes and other Pilates activities and relevant information through email and the Gemini Pilates newsletter and understand that I have the right to withdraw this ‘consent to be contacted’ at any time. I confirm that I have read and understood the above advice and that the information. I voluntarily agree to the above liability waiver and terms and conditions under my own free will.
